Did you recently receive a voter registration notice from our office?

Who receives this notice?

First time Warren County registrants

Current registered voters whose voter registration record has been updated resulting in a precinct change.

Registrants may also receive a postcard if we need more information before we are able to register or update their record.

How did the County Clerk receive my updated information?

The most common place where changes to your voter registration occur is the Driver Licensing Regional Office.

The county clerk receives the address updates of currently registered Warren County voters daily from the driver licensing division. Applicants may also do first time Kentucky voter registration, transfer their registration from another Kentucky county, or do a name change through the Driver Licensing Regional Office, however, those activities do require the voter sign a card authorizing that activity.

In addition, agencies providing public assistance such as the Food Stamps Program, Federal Social Security Act, the Special Supplemental Food Program for Women, Infants, and Children, and the Kentucky Medical Assistance Program are authorized voter registration agencies. The County Clerk receives address updates from these agencies daily, as well.

What is the precinct name/code listed on the notice?

Warren County has 53 precincts. Your precinct is assigned according to your registered address, and determines your representatives and the ballot face you receive at the voting location. Voters inside a precinct will have the same congressional, state senatorial, state representative, and magisterial district. Split boundaries within the precinct are possible for school districts and city boundaries.

Where do I vote?

Your assigned precinct DOES NOT affect your voting location options. Warren County utilizes countywide voting locations. Voters can cast their ballot at any one of our voting locations regardless of precinct. Voting locations are submitted by the County Board of Elections to the State Board of Elections for approval at least 120 days before each primary election. Once approved, locations can be found on the county clerk website.

How do I verify my voting information is correct?

Your voter registration record can be verified anytime by visiting https://vrsws.sos.ky.gov/vic/. Changes to your voter registration can be made online at https://vrsws.sos.ky.gov/ovrweb/

Military & Overseas Voters Information

Military and Overseas Voters

Military personnel, their dependents, and citizens who live overseas (temporarily or indefinitely) are permitted to cast an absentee ballot in one of the following ways:

The voter may vote on the voting machine in the County Clerk’s office if the voter will be absent from the county on Election Day, or if the voter learns he/she will be confined to a base within the county on Election Day.
Voters who will be out of the county may apply for a mail-in ballot that will be sent to the voters out of county address, their fax or email address at the voter’s request. A Federal Post Card Application (FPCA) may be used to make this request. It can be found at www.fvap.gov and it must reach us seven (7) days prior to the election. The ballot must be returned to our office by mail no later than Election Day.

In accordance with KRS 117.086 (2)(a), ballots for the May 2026 Primary Election may be returned by mail, or to the secure drop box located inside the Warren County Clerk’s Office during normal business hours of 8:00am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday. Mail-in ballots for the May 2026 Primary Election must be received in the clerk’s office no later than 6:00pm on May 19, 2026 in order to be counted.

WHO QUALIFIES:
• Person who due to age, disability, or illness will be unable to go to the polls on Election Day or all days of excused or no-excuse in-person voting. (Can be mailed to either a residential address or inpatient or residential medical treatment facility.)
• A resident of Kentucky who is a covered voter as defined in KRS 117A.010
• Student who temporarily resides outside of the county of his/her residence. (Can be mailed to residential address or educational institution attending.)
• Temporarily resides outside of the state but is still eligible to vote in this state
• Incarcerated in jail and has been charged with a crime, but has not been convicted of the crime (must be mailed to jail)
• Will be absent from the county of his or her residence all hours and all days excused and no-excuse in-person absentee voting conducted and also prevented from voting in person on Election Day (must be mailed to residential address).
• Person who is a participant in the Secretary of State’s crime victim address confidentiality protection program
• For PRESIDENTIAL BALLOT ONLY: Moved to another state after its registration books closed

Those voting by mail are advised to carefully follow all instructions included in the mail-in ballot packet to ensure the ballot is properly marked, sealed, and signed to prevent potential rejection. Any questions should be directed to the County Clerk’s office at 270-843-5306.

Voter who is a resident of KY covered by KRS 117A.010 absentee from county during Election Day & no-excuse voting
Voter or voter’s spouse who has surgery with hospitalization scheduled during no-excuse & Election Day voting
Voter who temporarily resides outside the state but is still eligible to vote in KY and will be absent during no-excuse and Election Day voting
Uniformed service member confined to a military base during early voting & Election Day.
In last trimester of pregnancy
Person who due to age, disability or illness will be unable to vote in-person during no-excuse or Election Day voting
Caregiver providing medical or healthcare assistance to voter qualified to cast in-person, excused ballot
Student who temporarily resides outside of their county of residence and will be absent for no-excuse and Election Day voting
Voter employed in an occupation that is scheduled to work during all days and all hours, including commute time, that the polls are open to no-excuse and Election Day voting
Any election officer tasked with election administration for the current election cycle
Voter who is absent from county all days & hours of no-excuse and Election Day voting

EARLY IN-PERSON VOTING

Any voter that would otherwise qualify to vote on Election Day qualifies
to vote during early voting instead.

MEDICAL EMERGENCY-ABSENTEE BALLOT

In case of medical emergency within fourteen (14) days or less of an election, a registered voter and the registered voter’s spouse may apply for an absentee ballot.

The application shall state that the emergency condition occurred within the fourteen (14) day period. The application shall be notarized. The application form may be requested by and delivered by the voter or the spouse, parents, or children of the voter. If the voter has no spouse, parents, or children, the application form may be requested by and delivered by the brother, sister, niece, nephew, or designee of the voter.

The application form shall be restricted to the use of the voter. Upon receipt of the application and verification, the county clerk shall issue an absentee ballot. Please call 270-843-5306 for more information.

2026 Election Schedule

November 5, 2025– Earliest date for the affixing of signatures on candidate filing forms for an office on the ballot in 2026

December 31, 2025– Last day to change political party affiliation and be eligible to vote in the political party’s upcoming primary election

January 9, 2026 4 p.m.-Candidate filing deadline: last day to file nomination papers for candidates who must run in primary

April 4, 2026- May 5, 2026 11:59pm -Online mail-in absentee portal open for PRIMARY ELECTION mail-in ballot requests

April 20, 2026- 4 p.m.-Last day to register to vote for the primary

May 6-8 & 11-13, 2026– Excused, in-person absentee voting (Location TBA January 2026)

May 14-16, 2026-In person, no-excuse early voting (Locations TBA January 2026)

May 19, 2026, 6 a.m.-6 p.m.- PRIMARY ELECTION DAY
